Family Tribute
Lea was born in 1925 in Arnold, Pennsylvania. Her parents, recent immigrants from Italy, moved the family to Detroit when her father found work at Ford Motor Company.
Lea spoke no English when she started elementary school but she quickly learned the language and her classmates and teachers learned she had a lot to say in English and Italian.
She met Don while they were both members of the St. Rita choir and they began a 61 year love affair. Lea was the mother of two children and grandmother of five. She enjoyed cooking, gardening and traveling and she wasn't shy about sharing her opinion on a variety of subjects. She remained fiesty and strong-willed until the end.
She will be missed.
