Obituary of Michael Guy Rae

July 16, 1947 – March 17, 2019

Michael G. Rae.  Age 71 of Lincoln Park.

Beloved husband of Lynette Rae.  Loving father of Kevin (Jennifer) Rae and Kristopher (Lisa) Rae.  Dearest grandfather of Liam and Baylee.

Family Tribute

Michael graduated from Lincoln Park High School in 1965.  He then went on to attend the Detroit College of Business (Davenport University) where we graduated from  in 1969.  While in school, he worked at JB Hudsons from 1965 to 1968 and Chrysler Trenton Engine Plant from 1968 to 1970.  Michael worked for the State of Michigan in the Auditor General’s Office, Department of Mental Health and Department of Corrections from 1970 - 2002. From 1975 to 1977, he attended Western Michigan University for their MBA program. He was in the Army Reserves from April 1969 to October 1974 working as a Medical Corpsmen Specialist. His interests included being in the Aquinas Men’s Club from 1992 - 2000 while his son’s were attending and being apart of the Good Shepherd Men’s Golf League. Michael was a softball player well into his 40’s and played hockey into his mid 30’s.  He enjoyed watching the Tiger’s and Red Wings play as well as any soccer game.  Michael enjoyed traveling with his group of friends from Aquinas, also enjoyed our lake house in Southwestern Michigan, visiting the casinos, and gardening.  He could be gruff at times but had a heart of Gold.  Michael truly enjoyed his grandchildren and was devoted to family and friends.  He was a wonderful, loving husband.
