Obituary of Ursula M. Wollmann

September 6, 1923 - December 2, 2018

Ursula M. Wollmann. Age 95 of Riverview.

Beloved wife of the late Edmund F. Wollmann. Loving mother of Sue (Jeff) Jones. Dearest sister of Klaus (Gisela) Wisbar and the late Gerhard (the late Christl) Wisbar. Dear Aunt of Torsten Wisbar, Bert (Sandra) Wisbar, Elfi (George) Schuster, Chris (Ellen) Wisbar and Heidi (the late Richard) Coniglio.

FAMILY TRIBUTE

Ursula was the first child of Albert and Margarete Wisbar of East Prussia, Germany. Her father was a school teacher in the rural town of Lopen, where she was taught by her father grades K-8. She later studied to become a teacher herself, but her ambitions were cut short by the impending war (WWII) and was forced to flee to Berlin.

Eventually, she ventured to Bavaria, where she met her future husband, Edmund F. Wollmann. In 1950, they became engaged. Unable to find work in his chosen field as a chemical engineer, they made the decision to immigrate to the United States, with Ursula arriving first in 1952, followed by Edmund in 1954. Both went through Ellis Island.

In 1956, they finally were married and in February of 1958, their only child, Susanne, was born. They settled in Detroit, where Edmund was employed by Marathon Oil Company. In 1964, they had their home built in Riverview, Michigan. Edmund passed in February of 1974.

Ursula was employed as a supervisor in housekeeping at Wyandotte General Hospital and retired in approximately 1988. She attended Christ the King Lutheran Church in Southgate, Michigan, where she was actively involved in numerous voluntary endeavors. It brought her great joy and satisfaction in serving others for Christ’s sake. She found mutual support in fellowship with the strong and loving Christian Community.

Her hobbies included cooking and sewing, as well as gardening. She enjoyed traveling to several states, including trips overseas.

Ursula had a very close and mutual relationship with her daughter, Susanne.

She was a remarkable warm, generous and caring Christian woman, who enjoyed sharing her faith in Jesus Christ, her Lord and Savior. She will be deeply missed.
