Obituary of Carol Ann Eory

August 5, 1942 – December 2, 2018

Carol Ann Eory.  Age 76 of Buckley, formerly of Riverview. 

Beloved wife of Thomas Eory.  Loving mother of Dawn (Michael) Eory, Tori (Jaimie) Boudrie, Katie Eory and the late Carrie Hope. Dearest grammie of Ashley (Scott) Heiges, Andrea Eory, Corey Boudrie, Michael Eory and Melanie Childers.  Great grandmother of Annabelle and Baby Heiges on the way.  Sister of Faith (Hal) Sullivan.  Aunt of Charity Ruff-Bukowski.  Daughter in law of Beatrice (George) Price.  Sister in law of Gerald (Susan) Eory, Brenda (Ted) Roll, Janet (John) Hall, Laura (Michael) Barson, Paul (Kellie) Eory and Joel (Lisa) Eory.  Also survived by many nieces and nephews.  Preceded in death by husband, Joseph Hope; father in law, Michael “Mickey” Eory; nephew, Jason Eory and great niece, Alexis Buhay.

Mrs. Eory was the longtime owner of Carol's Hallmark in Riverview.

FAMILY TRIBUTE

Carol was a selfless human being! She often gave more than she had and worried about the consequences later. Carol endured the loss of both parents at a young age and assumed responsibility for a younger sister. She lost her first husband Joe and daughter Carrie while managing with a determined grit. Carol fought hard for the rights of special needs people, not only for Carrie’s behalf, but also for each young person that she encountered along the way. She won some small battles and some regulations were changed. However, most of her passion and requests were dismissed by the highest offices in our state of Michigan.

Carol had class without an ego. She was feminine yet fierce when necessary. She was known to bring 6’4” doctors down to her level with a pull of their neckties. The volume of significant events that she faced and managed through, would have made most people crumble. Family was very important to her! She loved without expecting reciprocal love. Fortunately, she did receive it in return from most people. Carol was a special person. She never knew a stranger. She enjoyed family first and adored her grandchildren. She was so excited about the great grandchild on the way.

Carol had hobbies and interests that included, enjoying her property, wildlife monitoring, her Hummingbird friend, reading murder mysteries, her beautiful artwork, interior decorating, and the casino atmosphere where she made many precious friends. She left a deep impression in our lives and will be sorely missed. It is comforting to the family that while her earthly time has passed, that she is now joined with Joe, Carrie, other family members, pets, and special friends. She talked openly that she knew this time was near and she was fascinated with what was in store on the other side and what it will bring for her. While she will be missed daily, we believe it has exceeded her expectations.
