Obituary of John Behrik
May 29, 1929 - September 16, 2018
John Behrik Age 89 of Lincoln Park.
John Belrik, beloved husband of 65 years to wife Rose (Nee: Nemeth) Behrik, passed away September 16, 2018. He was born in Canton, Ohio, and at an early age moved to Lincoln Park, Michigan where he resided.
He graduated from Lincoln Park High in 1947 where he was the captain of the football team his senior year. He was also on the track team, and participated in boxing. He played football for Bowling Green, Ohio and Detroit Tech until he was drafted into the Army, serving for 2 years. After his military service he received his Master’s degree at Central Michigan College.
John retired from Ford Motor Company after 30 years as a Senior Analyst. He enjoyed traveling, golf, woodworking, gardening and his 5 wonderful children – John (Debi) Behrik, Virginia Silvey, Janet Behrik, Jim Behrik and Mike (Jeanne) Behrik. He has 10 grandchildren – Elizabeth, Matt, Brent, Christopher, Brooke, Roselyn, Jake, Zach, Ryan and Chad; and 10 great grandchildren – Madeleine, Bryce, Wyatt, Ryder, Chase, Ila, Emmy, Zake, Blayre, and a baby boy due in November. John was preceded in death by his brother, Frank, and sister, Bernadine.
