Family Tribute
My dear sweet Matthew, my only brown-eyed baby,
You are one of the greatest loves of my life. Your infectious smile and laughter, your sincere concern for others, and your gift of getting along with everyone are characteristics I will always treasure. Your dad and I could not be more proud of the amazing young man you grew to become. Our love for you is unending.
Your love of hockey forever changed our lives! Our times at the rink filled most of our spare time, and I wouldn’t change those memories for anything. We got such joy from watching you work so hard to improve, practice, and succeed. The people we met and friends you made as a result became our extended family and will forever be cherished.
Matthew, my precious, loving son
You would light up a room with your warm smile and laughter. Although you loved bugging Patrick and Megan, the love and concern you shared for each other made me so proud and blessed to be your mom. I will miss your voice every night saying, “Good night, Mom, night Dad. Love you.” Your care, concern, and the excitement you had when your cousins were around was a pleasure to see. A hug, a kiss, as you greeted your grandparents, and aunts and uncles were always filled with genuine love. The feeling was mutual. They all love you so very much.
Matthew, my wonderful student
You worked so hard to succeed in school. You were self-motivated, bright, and conscientious. You made such good choices in selecting friends and had so much fun with them. As a school athlete, you gave your all at every practice and game and were there to motivate your teammates. Your love for football and hockey was so evident. We enjoyed all of it!
Matthew, my gift from God
We are so thankful that God gave you to us if only for a short time. Our love for you is greater than you could ever imagine and our lives have been forever changed by your presence. We feel so blessed to have had you in our lives. It was our greatest pleasure to be your mom and dad. We are so grateful that God blessed us with you.
Eternal rest, grant unto Matthew, O Lord and let a perpetual light shine upon him.
