Obituary of Chuck Heggie
February 11, 1964 – April 20, 2018
Chuck Heggie. Age 54 of Southgate.
Beloved husband of Maria (Smatana) Heggie. Loving father of Stephanie (Josh) Franklin. Dear brother of Ed (Gerri) Gordon and Pete (Cindy) Heggie. Brother in-law of Cookie (Mel) Archambeau and Eric (Donna) Smatana. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
FAMILY TRIBUTE
Chuck was a loving husband of nearly 30 years and a father. While the majority of his life he battled diabetes and many other illnesses he never let it get him down. Chuck had many passions including cooking and gardening. He was always looking for new recipes and trying to make new things to try. Chuck loved to volunteer, especially helping as a pit crew member of the marching band while his daughter was in school. His passions also extended to sports where he spent several years coaching his daughter’s softball team. Even on his bad days he seemed to look at the bright side. Chuck was a proud graduate of Southgate High in 1982 and immediately found a knack for tinkering and taking on projects. He loved to fix things and was always willing to lend a helping hand. Chuck would not want everyone to be sad in his passing but would instead want everyone to remember him for his fighting spirit and love for life. We will never forget his love for all and his ability to always make you smile.
