Obituary of James W. Hosmer

May 5, 1944 – January 10, 2025

James W. Hosmer.  Age 80 of Wyandotte.

Loving son of the late John Hosmer and the late Kathryn Hosmer.  Dear brother of Robert Hosmer.  Also survived by several cousins.

Memorial contributions are appreciated to First United Methodist Church of Wyandotte.

Family Tribute ~ 

James was a 1963 graduate of Roosevelt High School in Wyandotte.  After high school, he earned a teaching degree at Adrian College where he studied music and social studies.  James spent his teaching career with Wyandotte Public Schools, from which he retired.  During his career, he taught music and social studies to grade school, middle school and high school students.

James was a lifelong member of First United Methodist Church of Wyandotte.  He had a love for music and was a contributing member/donor of the Detroit Symphony Orchestra.  He also contributed to Adrian College in support of their music scholarships and education.

James was a worldwide traveler.  He traveled extensively for many years.  His other interests included the International Brotherhood of Magicians, where he was a 50 year member.  James also belonged to the Hummel Figurine Collection for over 50 years.
