Obituary of Deloris Jean Cucinella

June 8, 1947 – October 1, 2024

Deloris Jean Cucinella, age 77 passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 1, 2024, at her home in Riverview, MI. 

Dee was born June 8, 1947, in Pikeville, KY to Milford and Glema Adkins. Dee was a graduate of Wyandotte Roosevelt High School in 1965. She married the love of her life, Jay Cucinella in August 1969, following his service in the United States Marine Corp. 

Dee and Jay are the proud parents of Tina (John) Tucker, Gaspare Cucinella, Angela (Francis) Meram, and Carla (Nick) Nyschick. In addition to all of the above, Dee is survived by her brothers Mike (Elaine), Marv, and Rick (Lisa), and 14 grandchildren; Rose, Sophia, Jack and Ava Tucker, Mia and Jay Cucinella, Lillianna, Julius and Giavanna Meram, Dominic Cucinella, Anthony and Nico Nyschick, and Emily and Megan Adkins. 

Dee was first employed by National Bank of Wyandotte, and then for the past 33 years by Henry Ford Medical (Orthopedic) -Wyandotte. Dee made a life of helping others and hosting family parties for every occasion. She was the life of every party and made everyone she met feel like a part of her family. In August of this year, Dee and Jay celebrated their 55th wedding anniversary. 

Dee will be incredibly missed by family and friends. Never has anyone met a more caring, unselfish, and loving person. Dee will be interred at Our Lady of Hope in Brownstown, MI.
