Obituary of Roger E. Bastien
September 18, 1944 – March 14, 2024
Roger E. Bastien. Age 79 of Riverview.
Beloved husband of Karen Bastien. Loving father of Diane Bastien, Gary (Kerri) Bastien and Brian (Kelly) Bastien. Dearest grandfather of Brandon. Step-grandfather of Mackenna and Emerson. Dear brother of the late Joseph Bastien, the late Gregory Bastien and the late Gerald Bastien. Dear brother in-law of Susan Bastien, Virginia Rosko, Mary Ellen Risch, Dale Risch, Carl Risch, Edward (Kathy) Risch, Paul (Donna) Risch, Betty Kasper, Thomas Courtright, Carol Risch, the late Jeanette (the late Frank) Warner, the late Sally Courtright and the late Leonard Risch. Also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Roger served his country with honor as a member of the Marine Corps Reserves from 1965 to 1971. In his career, he began as a plaster model maker at Imperial Design for over 10 years. Later, Roger transitioned to Ford Motor Company, where he worked for 34 years until his well-deserved retirement.
Outside of his profession, Roger found joy in simple pleasures. Whether gathered with friends and family playing cards, tending to the grill in his backyard, or exploring the wilderness hunting, he loved being outdoors. A sports enthusiast, he always enjoyed watching any sporting event and cheering on his local sports teams.
