~Family Tribute~
Christine (Christy) Persson, beloved daughter, sister, mother, wife, aunt, and nurse, passed away at the age of 39, leaving behind a legacy of love and cherished memories. Born to Charli and Mike Lee, Christy brought joy and warmth to their lives from the moment she entered the world. The bond between Christy and her mother Charli was like none other, spending two years together helping heal her mother as she battled cancer. During the warm summers in the 90’s Christy could be found with her father Mike digging for fossils in northern Michigan.
Christy was a devoted mother to her precious feral turkey, Mia, who was the light of her life. She adored Mia and dedicated herself to making sure she knew the name of every dinosaur and providing her with constant love and laughter. Christy’s love for Mia knew no bounds, and her memory will live on in the heart of her beloved daughter.
Christy was also a loving wife to her husband, Jack. Jack knew three months into their relationship that he wanted to marry Christy, even marrying on their 11 month anniversary. Theirs was a bond forged in love and strengthened through shared laughter, dreams, and companionship. Christy was extremely close to her in-laws Mary Lou, Susan, and John. Christy’s passing leaves a void in the heart of Jack, but her spirit will continue to guide and comfort him in the days ahead.
In addition to Mia and Jack, Christine is survived by her loving sister, Allyson (or AJ as Christy called her) who shared countless memories of paddle brush beatings and hair pullings. Their relationship grew into one that is unbreakable, being each other’s best friend. Beloved aunt to nieces Amelia, Madison, and Lennon. Christine (or Aunt Tis) shared a special bond with her niece Amelia, spending countless hours together baking breads, gardening, and making life-long memories.
Christine dedicated her life to caring for others as a nurse at Beaumont Wayne. Her compassion and dedication as a House Supervisor touched the lives of countless patients and colleagues, leaving an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Christine had an enthusiasm for all things dinosaurs born from her love of the movie Jurassic Park. As a 9-year-old, Christy would tell anyone she met that she was going to be a paleontologist when she grew up. However, we all know that Christy never really grew up- so she became a nurse instead. Although Christy loved being a nurse, she still found ways to let out her inner paleontologist at work and could even be seen wearing an inflatable dinosaur costume from time to time.
Christine was a fiercely loyal friend, establishing lifelong friendships starting as early as elementary school and throughout her life. To Christine, friendship was an extension of family and Christine loved her friends just as fiercely. Her life was deeply enriched by these special relationships and brought so much joy to her heart. May the memories of time spent together with all the souls she called friends bring them peace and solace for the future.
Christine's love for her family and friends knew no bounds, and she cherished every moment spent with them. Though her time on earth was cut short, her memory will forever remain a beacon of light for her family and friends, inspiring them to live with compassion, kindness, and grace.
Christine was preceded in death by her baby niece, Lydia, and her grandparents, Jeanne, Art, Beatrice, and Charles.
A celebration of Christine's life will be held where friends and family will gather to honor her memory and share stories of her remarkable life. The location and date of Christine’s celebration of life will be determined and announced soon.
Christine’s kindness, generosity, and unwavering love will be dearly missed by all who knew her. Christine Persson will be remembered as a loving daughter, devoted sister, adoring mother, caring wife, affectionate aunt, and compassionate nurse whose presence enriched the lives of all who knew her. Though she may be gone from this world, her memory will forever remain a source of comfort and strength to those who loved her. May she rest in eternal peace.
