Obituary of Gerald Snyder Jr.
April 29, 1974 - January 13, 2024
Gerald "Bud" Snyder Jr. Age 49 of Southgate.
We are sad to announce the passing of Gerald “Bud” Snyder, Jr, of Southgate, Michigan. He passed away on January 13, 2024, at the very young age of 49. He passed away after a difficult 2-year battle with cancer. Bud was a kind, loving, and gentle man. A dedicated husband and father. His family meant everything to him, and he enjoyed spending time with his loving wife, his 4 amazing children, his mom, his sisters, and his niece and nephews.
Bud enjoyed traveling and we had the opportunity to go on many amazing adventures. One of our most cherished memories was snorkeling in Belize, Mexico and Mahagony Bay. Bud also enjoyed jet skiing, kayaking, and going off-roading! Bud’s favorite place was a little cabin by a lake up north with a bonfire and nature. Many did not know that Bud loved to spend time sightseeing and was an amazing nature photographer.
Everyone that knows Bud, knows that he was passionate about old muscle cars, specifically Trans Ams. His 1979 Trans Am was so much more than a hobby for him and so much more to him than “just a car” – it was a connection to his father and his childhood. He told many stories of his memories of riding around in the Trans Am with his father listening to music on the radio and would often listen to songs that reminded him of this time as a child with his dad.
We had a beautiful celebration of life party with Bud in June in lieu of funeral services so he could be a part of the love, memories, and celebration of his beautiful life.
Bud will be missed every day by everyone who knew him and loved him.
Cremation will take place at The On-Site Crematory, located within Molnar Funeral Homes - Brownstown Chapel.
