Edmond Jules Pruneau and Janis Marie Bodrie were wed on January 16th, 1954. They started their family and had seven children, Cindy, Juliann, "EJ," Michael, Mary Ellen, Willard and Janis. The family was complete in just eight years. Ed and Janis were 27 years old.
The children became best friends. When left on their own, they played make believe. Tarzan was a favorite. The boys would stand on a couch, leap into the air, grab the hanging chandelier and swing through the air to land on the chair across the room. They were often successful, until the chandelier broke. Sometimes the natives grew restless and would attack Tarzan. We practiced the art of spear throwing. The flagpole was a great practice weapon until it went through a window. Game over. Have you ever wondered how high a bowling ball can bounce on a couch? We did. About 3 feet, but it gets tricky at this height. Our ball took a bad bounce and through the window it went. EJ dreamed up magical creatures called "HOPPIES." It is a frog like creature which hops at great speeds. Only boys could be HOPPIES. The three boys would chase the four sisters through the updatirs bedrooms and the girls screamed, the boys hopped and the noise level was deafening.
These games always ended wit playing "army." Cindy and Julie were the generals and took turns choosing their platoons. The mission was always the same, get this house cleaned so the parents wouldn't know what we had been up to. Every mission was a success. There were casualties- two broken windows, one chandelier... easily explained. Life goes on.
This is composed in hopes of providing a birds eye view of EJ and his family growing up. I thank each of my brothers and sisters for these cherished memories. These are the games which helped shape us. We are survivors, Tarzan style. We are unified, Army style. We love, family style.
In closing, Ed andJanis fell in love and started a family. This family has grown to include more than 70 members and is still growing.
Sincerely,
