Obituary of Elmer Kreszyn

Elmer Kreszyn of Trenton, MI passed away peacefully to God's Care on September 30, 2023 at the age of 91. 

He is preceded in death by his parents John and Olga (Alice Hemming) Kreszyn and his six siblings and their spouses, Marcel (Dorothy) Kreszyn, George (Rosalie) Kreszyn, Harold (Marie) Kreszyn, Roy Kreszyn, Caroline (Julius) Gombash and Margaret (Don) Vincenty and his wife of 50 years, Barbara. 

He leaves behind four children, 12 grandchildren and 7 great- grandchildren. 

Kenneth (Barbara) of Riverview; Keith (Diane) of Anaheim, CA; Karin Hiske (David) of Trenton and Kurt of Trenton. His grandchildren are Anne Popyk (Marvin Jr.), Katherine Amicangelo (Zachary), Andrew Hiske (Kirsten), Kristen Young (Brett), Mark Hiske, Nathan Hiske, Kimberly Kreszyn, & Miranda Kreszyn. His great grandchildren are Mackenzie Pelham, Mitchell Mantha, Tyler Popyk, Matthew Amicangelo, Benjamin Popyk, Savannah Young, and Amelia Young. 

Elmer was born and raised in Detroit Michigan and a 1952 graduate of Southwestern High School. He was drafted into the U.S. Army and served for two years including 16-months serving in the Korean War. He married his High School sweetheart, Barbara Underwood on August 7, 1954, and they went on to celebrate their 50th-wedding anniversary in 1994. He was employed by American National Resources (formerly Associated Truck Lines) for 36-years as a transportation dispatcher and later retired from Hall Transportation in 1990.

Elmer enjoyed serving others. He was a man of faith, and he modeled his life around his Christian beliefs. He was an active member of Faith United Methodist Church and served the church in many different capacities including building improvements, memorial garden, and their mailing crew. He found great joy in spending time with his family, especially his children, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
