Obituary of Janet B. Wobig
December 3, 1938 - July 29, 2023
Janet B. Wobig. Age 84 of Flat Rock.
Our dearest Janet Wobig passed away on July 29th, 2023 at the age of 84, reuniting in Heaven with those she held dear who left this world before her.
Born on December 3rd, 1938 in Wyandotte, Michigan to James and Audrey Buell, Janet was a bright spirit from the very start. She graduated from Allen Park High in 1957, where she first laid eyes on her high school sweetheart, Allen Wobig. The two married in 1959 and built a life together.
Janet brought warmth wherever she went. Janet began her career at City Bank in 1958 where she was crowned "Miss Detroit Banker", "Miss City Bank", and Miss A.I.B. of 1959.
Janet had a long career with Ford Motor Company's Computeristics Division as a Keypunch Operator. After leaving Michigan with her second husband Robert, she continued her career in Oklahoma.
Family was Janet's biggest passion. She delighted in cooking up holiday feasts for her children - Kurt, Eric, Bret and stepchildren Robert, Dana and Greg. Though we'd tease her about forgetting ingredients, Janet's laughter and love were the real secret spice. She adored time with her grandchildren.
In her quiet moments, Janet could often be found reading, immersed in the pages. She also enjoyed traveling and collecting photo memories from near and far.
Janet was preceded in death by her first husband, Allen Wobig, second husband, Robert Tousignant, her parents James and Audrey Buell, and sister Beverly Forte.
She is survived by her sons Kurt Wobig (Teresa), Eric Wobig, and Bret Tousignant; stepchildren Robert Tousignant (Kelly), Dana Hetterscheidt (Scott), and Greg Tousignant; grandchildren Steven Wobig, Trisha Rushing, Erika Herbert (Brian), Katie Tousignant, Caleb Tousignant; and multiple great grandchildren, nieces and nephews.
A memorial service will be held on August 3rd, 2023 at 2:00 pm at Community Baptist Church (formerly William Taylor Elementary), 3700 Benson, Trenton, MI.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Janet's memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital.
While Janet may no longer be with us on this earthly plane, the imprint she left on our hearts remains. We picture her regaling loved ones in Heaven with her signature blend of wit and wisdom. Our darling Janet will stay with us always.
