Obituary of Robert M. Hoppenworth
February 12, 1931 - July 21, 2023
Robert M. Hoppenworth. Age 92 of Southgate.
Beloved husband of Joyce (Ellis) Hoppenworth. Loving father of Larry (Susan) Hoppenworth and Linda Hoppenworth. Dearest grandfather of Lauren (Michael) Whiteley and Timothy Hoppenworth. Great grandfather of Lucas, Nolan, Alexander, Nicholas, and Timothy. Also survived by Gloria Smith, as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Preceded in death by his parents, Martin and Grace (Massman) Hoppenworth; and brother Charles (Helen) Hoppenworth.
Robert worked as a tool & die maker at Star Tool & Die for over 40 years. During this time, he served in the United States Army for two years before joining the reserves. In his spare time, Robert enjoyed woodworking, gardening, or tinkering with anything with an engine and wheels. He could often be found at his lake house on Lake Huron with his beloved wife of over 70 years, Joyce. He was loved, and will be sorely missed, by many.
