Family Tribute ~
Marlene was affectionately known as “Dolly” to her parents and husband, and “Dottie” to her adoring sister, nieces, and nephews. She was beloved by everyone who knew her, and she in turn cared so deeply for everyone in her life. Every day her friends and family could count on her nightly check-in phone calls, and she would do everything she could to help her loved ones in need. Marlene was loved by all who met her for her fun and warm spirit. She loved to laugh and surrounded herself with lifelong friends that cherished her and laughed with her constantly.
Marlene lived a lifetime of selflessness and taught us all what it meant to be devoted to your loved ones. She took her parents in and cared for them as they aged, and cared for her husband Richard through his challenging medical needs without hesitation for many years. Not only was she a beloved sister to Lucille and Shirley, but to her sister-in-law Sharron Mantas and her husband George, both of whom she cared for deeply. Marlene was an incredible mother who protected, fiercely loved, unwaveringly supported, and constantly bragged about her two children. She touched the lives of everyone she met and will be missed incredibly. Marlene loved playing cards, stand-up comedians, traveling to Lake Michigan with her family, taking nature walks, fruity cocktails, watching Dateline and Turner Classic Movies, late-night ice cream runs, singing to Disco in the car, and spending time with her family and dear friends.
