Family Tribute
Irene Schultz graduated from Melvindale High School in 1952, where she obtained the nickname Hot Rod Blast. During this time she worked at the local movie theater, sold newspapers with her brothers, cleaned houses and took in laundry. She went on to work as a key punch operator for Michigan Mutual (Train Station) and retired from Frito-Lay, Allen Park, MI after 20 years.
Irene enjoyed the casino, playing bingo and even with diminishing eyesight and hearing, she made sure to watch her favorite show, General Hospital. We knew when 2 o’clock came along, it was not a good time to call. Irene also enjoyed crocheting; she made a blanket for each one of her family members.
Irene loved the Lord and was a devout Catholic. Her favorite saint was St. Anthony. If she or anyone lost something, she prayed to St. Anthony until the item was found. He always delivered for mom.
The most important thing in her life was her family- She loved her husband, kids, grandchildren and great- grandchildren. Mom would like to be remembered as a loving wife, loving mother, loving grandmother and a loyal friend who loved the Lord.
We love you, Mom.
