Obituary of John Edward Pezzullo, Sr.
October 22, 1943 – June 11, 2023
John Edward Pezzullo, Sr. Age 79 of Flat Rock.
Beloved husband of Joanne Pezzullo. Loving father of the late Annette Fairchild, the late John Pezzullo Jr., Gina (John) Ward and Anthony (Tracy) Pezzullo. Dearest grandfather of Josie, Rowan, Nicolas, Zacary, Emma, Olivia, Sebastian and Logan. Dear brother of Rosanne (Mike) Terminelli and the late Michael Pezzullo. Also survived by special nieces Iris and Angel.
Family Tribute ~
John served in Germany during the Vietnam War from September 1962 to September 1965. He enlisted from Post #78 in Port Huron, Michigan in the US Army RA Artillery service and later transferred to the US AR7 until September 1968. He received an Honorable Discharge, a Good Conduct Medal, and a Sharpshooter (Rifle M-14).
He married the love of his life, Joanne on July 30, 1966.
John was an exceptionally mild-mannered, soft-spoken man who whole-heartedly loved his wife, children, and grandchildren. His family always came first and worked two jobs to provide for his loved ones. When his two Nieces, Iris and Angel needed a home he took them in without batting an eye.
He loved sharing his War stories, his favorite movie was Rambo, and he loved his War movies. He was writing a book on Major Alexander H. M. Taylor, a Career Soldier of thirty years beginning in 1861, Civil War.
He loved cooking, baseball, and golf. He was a well-rounded many who took great pride in his accomplishments and he will be fondly remembered and sorely missed by many who knew and loved him.
Memorial contributions may be made in his name to Wounded Warrior Project.
