Obituary of Frank Gasiorek Jr.
May 31, 1953 - March 24, 2023
Frank "Chuck" Gasiorek Jr. Age 69 of Carleton.
Beloved son of the late Frank A. and Catherine L. (Palmer) Gasiorek. Frank earned a bachelor’s degree from Wayne State University, a masters in theology in sacred theology from Saint John’s Provincial Seminary, a master of science in administration from Central Michigan University and a doctorate in philosophy in administration management from Walden University. He taught business courses at the University of Michigan - Dearborn, Detroit College of Business, Davenport University and Wayne State University. In addition, he taught at the off campus locations and classrooms through studio broadcasts. For several years he served as academic consultant to academic and historic publishing companies as well, to graduate students pursuing advanced studies. In addition, he worked as an independent contractor providing research, customer-service and historic publishing presentations for Detroit Upbeat, Planit Michigan and General Motors Renaissance Center. He was employed as a researcher, trainer and the visitor services manager at Fair Lane-Henry Ford Estate. Earlier years, Frank was employed in both service and management roles at Mercy Memorial Hospital. Volunteer services in Detroit area non-profit organizations was important to Frank and he served as a patient advocate for senior family members and friends.
Awards include the Donor Award at Fair Lane - Henry Ford Estate, the Academic Achievement Award from Wayne State University, Friend of Ford Award from the Henry Ford Heritage Association. Community involvement for Frank included Vice-President and President of the Dearborn Historical Society, board member and historian of the Henry Ford Heritage Association, member of the Detroit Historical Society and volunteering at local community outreach programs. He was active at the Detroit Orchestra Hall as an usher. A member of Old Saint Mary’s Greek Town, Saint Albertus and Divine Grace and a sponsor to several non-profit organizations.
Frank is survived by his sisters: Iris M. Morrissett, Ann M. Moulton, Emily F. (Ken) Ratledge and Bernadette A. Thabit, nieces and nephews: Jason, Crystal, Yvonne, Brooke, Brandon, Bailey along with great nieces and nephews: Miranda, Olivia, Ashton, Danielle, Emma, Jack, Evan and Anya. Frank was preceded in death by his parents Frank A. and Catherine L. (Palmer) Gasiorek, and brother-in-law Jim Moulton, Bill Morisette and Brian Thabit
