Obituary of Agnes Kenny Lehr

March 2, 1926 – March 2, 2023

Agnes  Kenny Lehr.  Age 97 of Trenton.

Loving mother of 10 children; Rita Lehr, Paul (Cindy) Lehr, Anne Grutza, the late Mary (Ron) Busenbark, Judy Lehr, Joan (the late J ) Garza, Nancy  Lehr-Fricke, Lisa (the late Gary) Frank, Jane (Jay) Novak, and Mike (Joanna) Lehr.  Also survived by 25 grandchildren and 50 great grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband Ray Lehr, her daughter Mary Busenbark and 12 brothers and sisters.

Family Tribute ~

Agnes Lehr joined the angels and her family in heaven on her 97th birthday, March 2, 2023, peacefully and surrounded by her loving family.  

Agnes was born in Detroit into a large Irish family. The youngest daugher of 13 siblings, she would grow up to leave an indelible mark on the lives of countless people.

She married Raymond Lehr on June 18, 1949, together they had 10 kids.  Their union blessed them with 25 grandkids and 50 great-grandkids.

We are all grateful for her support, kindness, and generosity. She was unwavering in her Catholic faith, which was a central aspect of her life and an inspiration to many of us. Despite facing numerous challenges and difficulties throughout her life, she remained steadfast in her beliefs and values, providing an wonderful example of faith and devotion to God and her family.

Agnes was a remarkable person, who had an amazing sense of humor and a fierce spirit. She was never afraid to speak her mind and had a way of making us laugh even during the toughest times. She never forgot a birthday, was the grandkids last stop on Halloween, and the grandkids always looked forward to sharing a cup of hot chocolate with her on Christmas Eve, and if you ever came to visit you could always find cookies in the cookie jar.

She had a love for St. Patrick's Day, the color purple and the Detroit Tigers. She had a great sense of humor and was known for her quick wit and hilarious one-liners. She was also a hardworking lunch lady who fed hundreds of people over the years. Her dedication and care for others extended beyond her own family. Despite her tough exterior, she had a heart of gold and was always there to lend a helping hand or a listening ear. She was a fierce supporter of her children and grandchildren and could often be heard cheering the loudest at their sporting events. Her vibrant personality, infectious laugh, and unwavering love for her family will always be remembered and cherished by those who knew her.

We are all saddened by her passing, but we take comfort in the fact that she has been reunited with amazing people like her husband Raymond, her daughter Mary, her parents, and all her brothers and sisters who were waiting for her in heaven. We know that she will be welcomed with open arms and that her legacy will continue to live on through the lives of the people she touched.

Her passing leaves a void in our hearts, but we take solace in the memories we have of her. We are all better for having known her, and her spirit will continue to inspire us for generations to come.

Rest in peace, dear Agnes. Your legacy will live on forever.
