Obituary of Michael J. Heider

March 6, 1954 - January 31, 2023

Michael Joseph Heider.  Age 68 of Mio.

Son of Helen (Funti) and John Heider. Beloved partner of  Terry Grapes. Loving father of Michelle (Mike) Karr and Michael (Ashley) Heider. Dearest grandfather to Matthew and Mallory Karr. Dear brother of Dennis Heider, and Diane (Danny) Bandy. He is also survived by many cousins, nieces, and nephews.

Cremation will take place at The On-Site Crematory located within the Molnar Funeral Homes - Brownstown Chapel.

~ Family Tribute ~ 

Mike worked on a production line at the Fleetwood GM plant in Detroit. He continued work later as a machinist and then became a truck driver for a paper company. He “retired” from work in 2011. He and Terry then moved to Mio Michigan in 2013.

Mike loved living up north with lots of land. He enjoyed seeing and feeding all of the animals that came onto the property. He spent lots of time working on projects in the pole barn, cutting down trees to fuel the wood-burning stove, and digging out of the many inches of snow they would get up north. 

Mike loved spending time with family and friends and had many visitors at the place up north. He enjoyed many hobbies including building/working on cars, fishing, playing the drums, and fixing just about anything. 

Mike will be missed by many. He will be remembered for his hospitality, his love of fixing things, and his witty sense of humor.
