Obituary of Mary Theresa Sipos

August 26, 1928 - August 11, 2022

Mary T. Sipos. Age 93 of Southgate.

Beloved wife of the late George.  Loving mother of Steve (Terry) and the late Carol (Shawn) Falwell.  Dearest grandmother of Katie (Chris) Doak and Ashley Falwell; great grandmother of Nathan, Hannah, Sarah and Andrew Doak.

Family Tribute

Mary Sipos (nee Olah) was called by the Lord to her heavenly home on August 11, 2022.  She was preceded in death by her parents Steve and Mary Olah, her sister Helen, her daughter Carol and many wonderful family and friends.  She was 93.

Mary grew up in Romulus across the street from the airport in the home her father built.  She attended Roosevelt High School riding the bus everyday from her country home to Wyandotte.  After graduation she worked as an accomplished secretary at the Pennsylvania Salt Co. in Wyandotte.

Mary was married to George Sipos for 59 years before his death in 2009.  She excelled as a homemaker creating a lovely home in Southgate for her family.  She was a super cook and baker.  No one could match her stuffed cabbage, kiflis, apple pie and chocolate cake with buttercream frosting.  Mary loved to sew and crochet.  She gifted her loved one with many special homemade blankets.

Mary and George were involved in the Hungarian Community.  We have sweet memories of them attending Hungarian festivals and dancing the czardas.

Mary will be greatly missed by her son Steve (Terry), her granddaughters Katie (Chris) and Ashley, and her great grandchildren Nathan, Hannah, Sarah and Andrew.  She was loved by her niece, Diane, and many other dear family members.
