Obituary of Carrol S. McKinnon

October 1, 1952 – August 2, 2022        

Carrol S. McKinnon.  Age 69 of Brownstown.

Beloved wife of 48 years to Rick McKinnon.  Loving mother of Marissa (Nick) Janice and Sean (Delia) McKinnon.  Dearest grandmother of Olivia Alonzo, Beto Alonzo, Peyton Janice, Camryn Janice, Isabel McKinnon, Thomas McKinnon and A.J. Janice.  Great grandmother of Lydia Alonzo.  Dear sister of Ron (Pat) Brooks and the late Mike Brooks.

Family Tribute

Carrol was born October 1st 1952 in Booneville, Indiana.  She had 2 older brothers, Ron and Mike. They liked to torture her Barbies and toys. She moved quite a bit during her childhood in Indiana.She moved to Wyandotte, Michigan in her freshman year of high school. She was top 10 in her class. She started making her own clothes. She started Virginia Farrell School of Cosmetology as a co-op class. She met Rick and used to have lunch with him at Neisners. Her dad got her a mustang convertible she loved to drive. Rick went into the Navy. Carrol finished cosmetology and started working in Wyandotte. She liked to have a good time and was pulled over several times with a beer in the car but never got a ticket. Rick came home after 4 years in the Navy and they got married on May 17th, 1974. They got a house and established work before starting a family. Marissa was born first, then Sean. It was a new beginning. Carrol was always involved with the kids in school, being a boy scout den mother and girl scout leader as well as a soccer mom. She went back to school and got her associate's degree in accounting. Carrol continued to make things, she was very crafty. She made quilts, purses, and fixed all things with holes or that needed alterations that the kids and later grandkids brought her. Grandkids started popping out and she loved watching them. She retired in 2014 from a CPA firm. She spent time traveling across the country, spending winters in Florida and spending time with her grandkids.
