Family Tribute
Concepcion H. Luna was born July 24, 1931 in Eagle Pass, Texas to Tomas Hernandez and Felecitas Gonzalez. Concepcion lived in Texas until she moved to Ecorse, Michigan where she was married to the late Hector B. Luna and had five children. Connie later moved to Indio, California for many years until she decided to move back to Detroit to be closer to family. Concepción held many titles but being a mom and a Mamacita we’re her greatest titles. She was a crossing guard, factory worker, seamstress, crafter and worlds best rosary maker. Concepción love going to church. She was a strong believer of her faith, which she instilled in her family. She collected dolls and loved making homemade gifts for her family and friends. Concepción especially loved making rosaries. She has made thousands of rosaries that she’s donated to hospitals, churches and our troops overseas. She has even crocheted hundreds of little beanies for the preemies in the hospitals. Chances are if you ever grabbed a free rosary it may have been made by her with love. You would rarely see her without a rosary in her hands. She was truly a prayer warrior. Now she will be one of our guardian angels still praying above us. May she rest in peace pain-free.
