Kay F. Nimeth. Age 74 of Flat Rock.
Kay Frances Vaughn Nimeth
Entered into eternal peace September 22, 2021.
Born in the home on Cook street to the late Gentry and Frances Vaughn of Paducah Kentucky June 3, 1947. although her birth certificate read May 3, it was often joked that the doctor who delivered her was so drunk he didn’t know what month it was.
Loving little sister to Leon (Nancy) Vaughn, spoiling big sister to Debby and Jeffrey (Shannon) Vaughn .
Best ever Hu-mom to BEAR.
Kay hit the jackpot at the tender age of 13, when she found her soulmate Richard G. Nimeth Sr. Callender street of Southgate.
Rick would ride his bike seven blocks everyday to Walnut street to see his “Sleepy”.
While courting as teenagers they often laughed at how strict Kays mom was. No sitting beside each other on the couch, no holding hands, no smooching.
July 17th, 1965 she married Rick. The union brought them: Richard Jr (Marge),Anthony (Brenda), and baby girl Stacie England.
Proudest grandma to Nicole, Jacob, Sydney, Richard(Kaitlin), Robert, Michael and Maxwell, great grandma to Ellie and Aubrey. All of whom she loved immensely. Proceeded in death by a dear friend Uncle Dan .She leaves behind several nieces and nephews and many many wonderful friends.
Kay never met a stranger, and was the life of every party and all family gatherings. Her infectious laugh and booming voice will forever be the missing link at events. Kay’s dad often joked that the drunken doctor implanted a Victrola needle in her throat when she was born.
She was first one to tell you, she didn’t like anyone who could out talk her. We learned fast not to ask her opinion if we really didn’t want it.
Kay was quick witted and a no nonsense kind-of woman.
An avid board and card game player- she could smack talk the best of them when she snapped that card down, euchring her opponents, turning up that double pinochle or taking the whole pot in Penny ante poker with a royal flush. Kay had a heart of gold. She lived and loved fiercely, in the words of Frank Sinatra “she did it her way.”
Forever will family and friends share their favorite stories of midnight shopping trips , casino and Bingo nights. Ricks horrible driving through the mountains going to Florida. Evenings at Michaels on the river. Her love for coca-Cola Decor and Bears. The endless weekends spent at the cottage by her fire pit, camping trips ,her famous Thanksgiving dressing and Having more Christmas Ornaments and decorations than Frankenmuth.
Forever will our hearts echo our memories of Kay and she will be missed Infinity.
