Obituary of David E. Chapman
March 12, 1945 - June 24, 2021
David Edward Chapman, 76, of Southgate, MI, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, June 24, 2021.
David is survived by his beloved wife of 42 years, Marcia (Stewart) Chapman, son Daran (Melissa) Chapman of Rockford, MI, and grandchildren Ian and Nina Chapman. He is preceded in death by his parents, Edward and Betty (Mack) Chapman, and son, Chris David Chapman.
David was born in Detroit, MI, on March 12, 1945. He graduated from Edsel Ford High School and continued on with an apprenticeship at Ford Motor Company. That started his 41 year career as a machine repairman for Ford, retiring in 2006. David loved spending time with family and friends at their cottage on Fawn Island, playing the keyboard, dancing with his lovely wife, as well as riding, maintaining, customizing and tinkering with his much loved motorcycles. David will be remembered for his engineering genius and exacting standards, willingness to help friends especially with those difficult projects, his warm laugh and smile, and for doting on his grandchildren.
Cremation will take place at The On-Site Crematory located within the Molnar Funeral Homes - Brownstown Chapel.
In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to the American Heart Association or your charity of choice.
