Obituary of Joseph Modicamore

March 18, 1954 - October 12, 2017

Joseph Modicamore.  Age 63 of Riverview.  Formerly of Melvindale and SW Detroit.  Dearest son of the late Gerlando and Frances Modicamore.  Dear brother of Dominic (Karen) Modicamore, Catherine (James) Sylvia and the late Roseanna Modicamore.  Also survived by nieces and nephews, Christine (Alexander) Sylvia, Allison Sylvia, Jessica Modicamore, Michael Smarczewski, Robert Smarczewski and the late Anthony Smarczewski. 

In lieu of flowers, contributions to the National Alliance on Mental Illness are appreciated.

FAMILY TRIBUTE

Joseph "Joe" Modicamore was a man greatly loved and cared for by his family. Although Joe never married and left no children, his legacy in the hearts and minds of his loved ones is secured forever in his laughter, wit, passion and thoughtfulness.

Raised in Southwest Detroit by Italian immigrant parents, he was a first generation American and proud of both heritages.
Although Joe faced many challenges in his life, he always stood for and loved his family. Joe's brother Dominic was a steady and happy companion. They were often together. Brothers as brothers should be, loving, caring and mutually protective. Along with his youngest sister Cathy, he would share lunches, dinners, drives and shopping outings. Joe and Cathy enjoyed these times together. Joe was a good man with a good heart.
