FAMILY TRIBUTE

Born and raised in Wyandotte, Norbert was a lifelong resident of Wyandotte. It was at Roosevelt High School where he met the love of his life Barbara.  They were married shortly after high school and were together for 64 years.

In his early years with a young family during the summer he would spend almost every weekend with his family and friends camping in one of Michigan’s state parks. He enjoyed Walleye or perch fishing in Lake Erie. In his spare time, he enjoyed wood working and became quite skilled. Although he made furniture, a custom kitchen for his home, China cabinets and many wood carvings. It was the time he spent making things with his children, grandchildren and great grand children that he was most proud.

Later in life after retiring from Ford Motor company. Norb and his wife bought a RV and set off to explore the US.  In the three years they traveled they visited nearly every state in the country. He made many friends along the way as he spent 30 years as a sponsor helping others. He was the first to volunteer and the last to ask for help. He was not one to lecture others he chose to lead by example. Norbert always worked hard, respected others, never complained about his chronic pain, or criticized others. He taught his sons and family by the way he lived his life.

His was a life well lived… he will be dearly missed.
