Mike was a great guy, always smiling & happy. You could always count on him to lift you up if you were having a bad day. I hadn't seen him in many years, but he was a special customer at Good Shepherd, and everyone was very fond of him. I enjoyed looking at all the wonderful photos, wonderful memories! Love you, Uncle Mike. I will hold you close forever. There is NO ONE on the planet like you! You are the one and only. We will always miss you, here, but know our hearts are FILLED with all your kindnesses, well wishes, honor, and love. Uncle Mike HELPED EVERYONE (and had ADVICE for everyone --- like it or not ---) He dreamed BIG, Loved BIG, and though he lived BIG, he lived simply and worked very hard. He was generous to a fault. He had a HOT temperament but always for what he thought was for the best... Family was/is paramount! He loved the playing the game, especially BASEBALL, Real Estate, Stock Market ...Win our lose -- it was the excitement of playing, the excitement of learning, envisioning, making things happen. I loved and appreciated that about him. Frank Sinatra's "My Way" is what uncle Mike lived... --- He did it HIS WAY! I have countless memories of Uncle Mike but my favorite goes way back to 1987.... Pope John Paul was coming to visit the city of Detroit in September that year. The press warned that traffic into the city would be horrendous as followers flocked to Hart Plaza to see him. SO Uncle Mike and I planned spending the night before the Pope's visit, in my office at The Renaissance Center. We had a blast. We went for a Chinese food dinner and a movie at the Ren Cen before turning in for the night -- Sleeping bags and toothbrushes... ha ha The next morning, I got us 2 milk crates from the Ren Club kitchen (to use for seats or elevated stands), went to McDonald's for coffee, picked up a newspaper and headed to Hart Plaza to get settled for the Pope's visit. It was a great day and a BEAUTIFUL memory for me of just the two of us. It is hard to say goodbye--- even for a little while, but I know you are happy seeing my Dad, Uncle Tony, Aunt Marianne, Grandma and Grandpa and so many of your friends in Heaven. They've been saving your seat.. Love you always. Rest and play in peace. SAVE US some seats! xo

Gena. I don’t think anybody could have said it any better in describing Uncle Mike. Wasn’t aware of your experience at the RenCen. I’m certain you guys had a great time what a beautiful memory.

Lisa, I loved everything you shared about Uncle Mike❤️. He was indeed a character and one of a kind. I'll always remember his laugh and him coming over on the holidays and having dinner with us or just randomly dropping by for a visit. I remember Uncle Mike taking me to a baseball game when I was really young and saying hello to everyone passing by...he really had a dynamic personality!! Lee and I had the pleasure of living with him and grandma Conti for 2 years after Lee and I got married. He rented out the downstairs basement to us which was fixed up as a studio apartment. After those 2 years, we moved into our first home on the east side of Detroit, lived there for 12 yrs, then moved back to Grosse Ile for 3 yrs to live with our mom and dad ( Al & Marianne Rinna ) and help out with the family business. After that we decided to move again to the Lapeer area and I'll always have the fondest and special memory when Uncle Mike used his big and roomy van to pack all of our belongings and drive me and my 2 daughters, Jackie & Krystal to our new home in Lapeer!!! We met Lee who was already up there finishing up the house. We will all miss you Uncle Mike....May God bless and keep you. Now you can dance in heaven✝️

Uncle Mike will truly be missed. He had so much love for my mother, Marianne, and the rest of his family. So many memories of him at our family gatherings...when we would talk, he would listen and sometimes just give that slow, “knowing” nod with a slight, warm smile. It’s immensely comforting to know that he is finally home and at peace with his loved ones. May His perpetual light shine upon you, Uncle Mike. Rest In Peace. ❤️ Violet

I have so many memories of Uncle Mike. He loved family. After my dad (Anthony Conti) passed away he would come to our house and visit with us. When we would be at Aunt Marianne's house at Christmas, he would give all of us red envelopes with one dollar in it. We would line up waiting for it. He always wanted the cousins to be together. He would tell Ryan and Lea to get to know your cousins! He loved to dance. I would run into him at the Pier 500. He would come to my house for a family dinner or get together and sit in the chair by the window and ask to fill his plate. A little more spaghetti, a few more cookies, a little more wine! He would tell me to remember him when I cooked spaghetti and to bring some over! When grandma passed, he would hang her apron on the clothes line. He loved to tell stories about growing up, work and life experiences. He loved the History channel, old movies and pictures. He loved sports, you didn't interrupt him when football was on. When I visited him in the hospital, I was so worried when I went to see him, expecting the worst, I walked in and he told me to wait until the play was complete. He saved everything!!! He insisted on putting his stuff in my garage when he ran out of room. He was great at getting our kids to help him with projects, whether they wanted to or not! He had a temper, you never talked about politics or religion. He had a kind and generous heart. He helped everyone! He was quite the character. Everyone called him Uncle Mike even if they weren't related. My heart is sad, because he is gone. But full of love for the wonderful uncle he was to me. I felt he would be here forever... If you knew him, you would never forget him. I am thankful for all he has done for me, for him being in my life and everyone's life he touched. I love you Uncle Mike!!❤❤❤

Uncle Mike...he wasn't my uncle but I called him that!! He was family to me just as all the Conti famiy are!!! I love each of you dearly and this loss brings sadness to my heart. Uncle Mike will be greatly missed,I enjoyed talking with him,he knew so much...just like Dom they were wise and if you listened you learned a lot!!! I never will forget how happy he was the Christmas he got his Ohio State sweat shirt!! Your memory Uncle Mike will always be in my heart! Uncle Mike was a wonderful man and a great teacher of all things history! He taught me how to be money wise and to always “Pay Yourself First” because you’ll need to take care of yourself when you’re old. He was also the glue of our families. He is and forever will be greatly missed from this world! I love you U. Mike. Toni

The funeral home began in his home until relocating across the street to it's Delray location at 8623 Dearborn Avenue, in 1936.
