Can't believe all the people who touched our lives have left us. And now another one gone.
Patti and I will always remember her as mom # 2, she treated us as the extended family we all became.
Like my sister mentioned lots of great memories with Lois and my dad up north at Burt Lake.
We enjoyed our lunches that we shared after she moved down state, almost once a week for a long time.
I would like to share on of my favorite stories from up north that I still get a kick out of to this day, it happened a long time ago in winter when my dad and Lois stayed in northern Michigan for the winter.
Patti, Lois, my dad, and I all went to a classic up north, rustic restaurant called The Pines for dinner, the kind of place with big long tables that you would sit at with other people.
It was a cozy atmosphere to say the least.
Setting next to us were some guys that came in with their snowmobile outfits on etc.
When it came time for them to leave they couldn't find the keys to their snowmobiles and it eventually ended up with the whole restaurant searching to help them.
It even involved them having to borrow a rake and flashlight from the owner of the place.
They spent a long time out in the snow in the dark searching while we finished our meals.
When it was time to leave Lois picked up her purse and set it back down with a thud, gave us all a look of horror and whispered to us "their keys are under my purse, what should I do?!!!
Needless to say the guys were so relieved to finally find their keys we all had a good natured laugh and left.
I'm just glad it wasn't summer and they weren't bikers.
I know there are lots of memories that will come up in the next few days, Lois was a character, and anyone who really knew her would have to agree, and would not soon forget her, I know we won't.
She had a good life and it was well lived, we will miss her.
