Obituary of Randall Christopher Mathews, Jr.
February 24, 1965 – August 16, 2017
Randall Christopher Mathews, Jr., 52, was granted his angel wings on August 16, 2017 at the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor. He was surrounded by his loving family. Randy was born in Pemberton, New Jersey, on February 24, 1965, to Janis Miles Mathews and the late Randall C. Mathews.
Left to cherish his memory is his devoted wife of 29 years, Johnna L. Mathews, his children Allyson Leigh Ann Mathews and Randall Christopher Mathews III, brother in law James F. (Lisa) Kuntz and John E. (Leisa) Kuntz. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews.
Randy had a big heart and he was deeply loved by those who were lucky enough to have had him touch their lives in some way. He will be remembered for his kindness, his love of animals, his wonderful cooking, amazing sense of humor, but most of all, his devotion to his family. Randy gave us all such courage and hope and reminded us of the preciousness of life. He fought these two years with such dignity and grace. He won the battle.

The family is deeply grateful for the love, prayers and support in many heart felt forms from so many.
Randy requested to be cremated and his ashes spread in the Smokie Mountains, a place that brought him much peace.
