Family Tribute

Rose Marie Grudzinski was born in Taylor, Michigan, where she lived with her parents as the “middle child” of six siblings, attending St. Cyril Catholic School and graduating from St. Francis Xavier High School.  Rose attended Mercy College and graduated from Marygrove College with her Bachelor's degree in education.  She earned Master’s degrees from Eastern Michigan University in Special Education and Early Childhood Education.

Rose and Rich were married on June 4, 1971, and raised their three children, Sara, Alan & Lisa, with love and encouragement.  They enjoyed spending time together at family gatherings, sporting events, weekend outings to the beach and parks, and vacations to places near and far.  Rose especially enjoyed spending time with their grandkids, Edie, Jack, Christian & Bella by taking them for adventures in “the woods”, having sleepovers, craft-making, and supporting anything and everything they have ever done.

Rose’s career as an educator spanned 40 years.  She touched the lives of many children, families, and colleagues with her kindness, patience, and caring nature.  Rose had a unique ability to make others feel important and special.  She loved sewing, gardening, watching birds, cooking and baking and spending time with friends and family.  She was actively involved in the parish at Our Lady of the Woods, and enjoyed serving as a lector for weekly mass.

Rose had an uncanny ability to remember important dates by using her self-made formula, and often came up with nicknames of local places, which never ceased to make her family laugh.  She was the ultimate “good sport,” always enjoyed a joke, and loved a good party.
