Obituary of Alan Richard Baumgartner
December 28, 1953 - July 29, 2020
Alan Richard Baumgartner. Age 66 of Southgate.
Beloved Husband of Julie Baumgartner. Loving Father of Nicholas (Cassandra) Baumgartner, Jessica (Vincent) Lane, and Jonathon Baumgartner. Dearest Grandfather to 3: Reuben Baumgartner, Henry Baumgartner, and Julianna Lane. Dear brother of Clifford Baumgartner, Merry Baumgartner, Sherry Lieder and Richard Jr. Baumgartner.
Preceded in death by parents Richard and Dorothy Baumgartner and brother Timothy Baumgartner.
Alan was the oldest of six children; Three brothers and two sisters. He was an amazing chef and business owner over the years. Cooking was his passion and he did so all his life from cooking for his siblings and parents, to customers, to a family of his own. Alan was the previous owner of Down River Coney for over 13 years with his wife Julie. He loved his family and grandkids more than anything. He loved his wife for over 25 years, always saying "I love you today, but tomorrow more than yesterday."
Alan was such a generous and kind-hearted man.
Everyone who knew Al knew that he would give you the shirt off his back and the meal before him if you needed it. He was such a selfless man and always caring about others before his own wants and needs. Al's favorite things to do were to watch the news, cook, and go to his cabin up north. He loved to watch movies and spend time with the family. He loved to teach his kids any life lessons he could and how to fix things.
Alan passed peacefully at his favorite place, the cabin up north. He was with his wife Julie and his son Jonathon.
Alan was dearly loved, and loved dearly. He had a heart of Gold. May he rest in eternal peace.
Daddy you were so very loved and will be deeply missed. You will be forever in our hearts. We love you always. "We love you today, but tomorrow more than yesterday.."-Love Julie, Nicholas, Jessica, Johnny, Vincent, Cassie, Reuben, Henry, and Julianna.
Cremation will take place at The On-Site Crematory located within the Molnar Funeral Homes - Brownstown Chapel.
