Delphine Berjeski. Age 91 of Riverview, formerly of Dearborn Heights.

Beloved wife of the late Frank Berjeski.  Loving mother of Lynn (David) VanAssche and Laurie Burger.  Dearest grandmother of Jennifer (Howard) Storey and Erik (Katlynn) Burger.  Great grandmother of Kennedy, Brooklyn and Luke.

Family Tribute

Delphine was the youngest of six children; three sisters and two brothers.  She met the love of her life, Frank Berjeski when she was 16.  Del and Frank got married on June 26, 1948, and both shared the same birthday and were the same age.  They truly were soulmates. Frank passed away January 29, 2008. They would have been married 60 years in October 2008.

They bought their first and only home in Dearborn Heights in 1953. Delphine was a stay at home mom and made great home-cooked meals. Some of her specialties were Swedish meatballs, potato pancakes, beet soup, her famous Golumpkis, and tuna fish!!  She was very involved in her church, St Albert the Great, and active in the Altar Society. Del and Frank loved to socialize with their friends and family and playing pinochle with their friends was a regular Friday night date.  They loved to travel and their favorite song was Spanish Eyes.

Family was so important to both of them.  Delphine resided in her home until 2014, moved to the American House, and then became a resident of Rivergate Health Care Center in February 2015.  Delphine loved to shop--she was a true fashion diva right to the end,  Her infectious smile, great sense of humor and love for her family and friends will always be remembered.  Del crossed many barriers in her life and her courage and strength during this pandemic will always be remembered.
