Obituary of Carol Anne Camacho

April 7, 1951 - May 24, 2020

 

Carol Anne Camacho. Age 69 of Lincoln Park.

 

Beloved wife of Gustavo Camacho. Loving mother of Alexa (Guillermo) Banos. Dear sister of Robert Price, Margo Price, the late Jane Price. Also survived by closed friends Maria Morales and Anselmo Banos. 

 

 

Family Tribute 

My mom Carol, was quite an exceptional person. If you've ever wondered what sunshine in human form felt like, that was a perfect description of who my mom was as a person. She was always the one to make you smile, feel better, cheer up, and make you believe in yourself when even you couldn't.

My mom was a Spanish teacher for 35 years. She attended CMU and obtained her Bachelor's degree in teaching. She traveled all over Central & South America to learn more and to teach English as a second language. My mom absolutely loved the Spanish language, the Latin culture, and her passion for teaching made for a wonderful experience for her students. She absolutely loved her students and always said that if she had inspired at least one of her students to be their best, then she did her job correctly. She taught Spanish at Truman High School from 1987-2015 until her well-deserved retirement. I loved seeing how much my mom's students loved her, I knew it was because they had the best teacher around.

My mom grew up on a farm in Linden, Michigan; a little town not too far from Flint, Michigan. She had such a fierce love for her animals, especially her horse, Cinder. Her dad had bought Cinder just for her. My mom was the baby of the family and grew up with 3 siblings; oldest sister Jane, middle sister Margo, and older brother Robert (Bob), and of course my loving grandparents, Dorothy and Max. Whom my mom always spoke so highly of, she loved her parents and I always wish I could've met them. My mom was always such a loving and caring person, literally, everyone that was blessed to know her, absolutely loved her. 

She was always smiling, always positive, and always so incredibly strong. Even when my mom got the news of being diagnosed with cancer 1 month after retiring, she remained so fierce, strong, and determined to fight this C monster as best as she could. our bond was incredibly special and unlike any other. We all feel so lost and heartbroken without my mom's beautiful soul here, and I would give anything to have her back here in the blink of an eye. But in her last 2 weeks of life, she was suffering and that absolutely killed me to see her like that. It's a struggle between wanting her here free of sickness and finding peace with the fact that she's not suffering anymore.

I feel like if there was something my mom would like to be remembered by, it would just be the way she lived her life; see the best in people, always give more than you take, and most importantly... never be ashamed of having a big heart and loving others.

Rest in peace mama and keep smiling from above. I miss you and love you so very much,

Cremation will take place at The On-Site Crematory located within the Molnar Funeral Homes - Brownstown Chapel.
