Family Tribute
Arthur was born January 6th, 1939 in Hamtramck Michigan. He was the only child of John and Anna. They moved to the east side of Detroit where Art attended Pershing High School. After high school Art entered the military and joined the United States Air Force where he was a heating systems specialist for the on-base buildings and housing. He was stationed at Kincheloe Air Force Base near Sault Ste. Marie for a lot of his tour. Art married the love of his life Carolyn in 1967 and lived many happy years in Huron Twp./Flat Rock area where they raised their two children. Art spent his career working for the Chrysler Corporation as a pipefitter in the Detroit area for roughly 40 years. Art retired in 2003 to spend more time with his family and friends.
Art was a member of the Knights of Columbus and was a gold medal winner in pinochle in the Downriver Senior Olympics at the Trenton and Riverview senior centers. He enjoyed building RC planes, some of which are still in his basement now. He also enjoyed putting puzzles together, doing crosswords, and building balsa wood model planes.
Art cared about his family very much, especially his only grandson, and loved spending time with him or sharing a meal with just the two of them. Art would attend his grandson’s baseball, soccer, and tennis games and then loved walking around looking at the robots that he built on the robotics team in high school.
Art was a very caring person who loved making sure the people around him were happy and taken care of. He was always generous and funny and would always make you smile or laugh if you were having a bad day using his quick wit and humor. Art would like to be remembered as a caring and loving family man who was full of love, humor, and charm. He was a man of few words but deep meaning.
Thank you, Dad, Father-In-Law, and Grandpa, for the wonderful memories, we will never forget you.
