Obituary of John M. Schwendeman Jr.
December 19, 1952 – April 16, 2020
John M. Schwendeman, Jr. Age 67 of Southgate.
Dear brother of Margaret “Peggy” (Robert) Fisher, and the late Loretta "Lorrie" Bouchard. Dear brother in law of Tom Bouchard. Also survived by many loving nieces and nephews.

Family Tribute
John "Jay" grew up in Wyandotte and spent his most recent years living in Southgate.
A proud veteran of the U.S. Army, he could always be found mingling with others at veteran clubs, organizations, and events in and around Wyandotte. He spent a significant amount of time at the VA Medical Center in Detroit where he maintained multiple cherished relationships with fellow veterans and staff members.
Although physical limitations tried to slow him down, he wouldn’t have it. He knew the limits on his electric scooter and he tested them often. A true patriot, John was always wearing or in possession of patriotic hats, pins, flags, and clothing. He was very fond of the Cabela’s store and when he couldn’t visit onsite, he would visit online.
A devout Catholic, John was a very loving and kindhearted man who never let barriers prevent him from living a fulfilling life.
Memorial contributions are appreciated to the American Legion Post #217 in Wyandotte.
