Obituary of Gail Burk
November 25, 1939 – April 9, 2020
Gail Burk. Age 80 of Lincoln Park.
Loving mother of Jeffrey and Christopher. Dearest grandmother of Dawn, Natasha, Jeffrey, Justin, Brianna, Alyssa, and Chloe. Also survived by 5 great grandchildren.
Gail was born on November 25, 1939, to Beatrice and Edwin Baustert in Lincoln Park, Michigan. She had two older brothers: Ed and Dennis. Her parents owned their own photography business in Lincoln Park. Gail and her brother would work in the dark room. She graduated from Lincoln Park High School in 1958.
Gail married her high school sweetheart Joe Burk when she was in her late teens. They had two children: Christopher and Jeffrey. Gail resided in Lincoln Park where she raised her two boys. She worked as a Social Worker for the Michigan Department of Social Service. Gail and Joe have seven grandchildren and five great grandchildren.
Gail had many hobbies. She loved to sing in the choir, bowl, draw, play cards and do puzzles. Gail also loved to help people. She belonged to the Older Women’s League (OWL). They would help families to get jobs or into school and anything else they may need. Gail always was a dog lover and was never without a dog in the house. Her pride and joy was her grandchildren and every Friday she would pick them up and spend time together doing many different activities such as going to Blockbusters.

Our History
John Molnar, Sr. opened the Detroit Hungarian Funeral Home, now the Molnar Funeral Homes, in 1923. The funeral home began in his home until relocating across the street to it's Delray location at 8623 Dearborn Avenue, in 1936. He had a strong work ethic and believed that you should never stop learning...
