Obituary of Jim Kotsou

August 19, 1925 – February 9, 2020

Jim Kotsou.  Age 94 of Southgate.

Beloved husband of Emorfia Kotsou.  Loving father of George Kotsou and Maria (Angelo) Fanaras.  Dearest grandfather of Demi and Nadia Fanaras.  Dear brother of Joann Roussis and Catherine Pantoleon.

FAMILY TRIBUTE

Jim was born in Thisvi, Greece on August 19, 1925 to George and Persephone Kotsou. He served in the Greek military during 1945-1946 and was a prisoner of war who was wounded in action.

Jim immigrated to the United States in 1951 and married his wife, Emorfia in April 1958. They had two children, George and Maria. He worked at Great Lakes Steel until his retirement in 1989.

Jim was an avid gardener and spent his summers tending a large vegetable garden. He took great pleasure in sharing his vegetables with his family, friends and neighbors. His other passion in life was professional wrestling. He took great pleasure in watching it both on tv and live in person.

In his final years he spent time helping to care for his granddaughters, Demi and Nadia. Jim left this life the way he lived, with conviction and on his own terms.
