FAMILY TRIBUTE

Albert Azzopardi
Albert was born in Malta, coming to the U.S. at the age of 3.  He grew up in the Detroit and Downriver area with his 2 brothers Matthew and Joseph, graduating from Riverview High School.  He worked various odd jobs, helping out in his brother’s bar, working at a machine shop, and helping out his other brother at his body job.  When he wasn’t working, he enjoyed watching the Red Wings, the Tigers, the Lions and the Green Bay Packers (his favorite football team), solving word search puzzles, taking his chance on lottery tickets and scratch offs, and hanging out with his dog and his best buddy, Frank.

My Brother Albert
Here is a person that would give you all he has.  There were countless times when my brother would literally step in on projects that I would struggle with and he would guide me through them. Then Albert would look at me and say “so what was the problem”.  He was such a craftsman at everything he did. He only believed in perfection. When I was down he was always there to try to cheer me up. This was the case even with other people he knew or didn't know. He was always concerned about people’s welfare. He was an avid sports fan. He loved watching football. His favorite team was the Green Bay Packers. On Sundays he would suit up with his Packer hat, shirt and jacket. Albert loved his beer. I had to make sure my fridge was full of beer.  Oh Albert, I will dearly miss you. Your loving brother Joe.

Our Uncle Albert
We all loved our Uncle Albert. I remember back when I was young at my Dad’s machine shop, Albert would be there doing body work on the vehicles and keeping the shop organized. He would show me how to use the sanders, pull dents and mix up the Bondo.  Albert would always be there to show me around and what to do. Albert would always be there to give and help out. I remember Albert and my grandpa (Nanu) taking out the cement sidewalk in front of my house. Just a couple of 1st 2nd and 3rd generation Maltese guys doing some cement work as usual. Albert was always excited to see my kids, Luke and Evelyn.  He would go out of his way to make sure they had something to drink and eat just like his mom (my Nana) did, and they would always leave his house with some kind of candy or prize. Albert was a great uncle, brother and son. We will all miss you dearly, Albert. Love Mario and his family.

My Uncle Albert
My Uncle Albert was sweet, funny, silly, and generous. Everyone who met him loved him. He loved helping people, he and my Nanu always building or fixing something. I remember many times watching them, lots of bickering about the best way to get the job done. They could fix anything together. He was always the first one to our house for barbecues and holidays, with the warmest greeting, wanting to talk about sports and his beloved Packers, making jokes, and bringing random gifts. Thank you Albert for showing us so much love, making us laugh, and always being there when we needed a helping hand. I will always think of you when scratching off a lottery ticket.   Love, Maegan

My Brother-in-law Albert
Albert was a sweetheart, endearing, special guy.  He was cheerful, friendly and funny.  Always there to help out, Albert came to our first house frequently with his Dad.  He, his Dad and my husband Joe,  would work on projects around the house, bickering loudly amongst themselves while getting the job done.  This provided me with much amusement.  On holidays he would always bring candy, a big jug of wine, and his entertaining nature. He was also in the habit of finding great deals on little odds and ends, and sending them home with Joe whether we wanted them or not.  I will miss him dearly.  Love, Lynne.
