Obituary of Donald P. Patterson
March 17, 1938 - October 18, 2025
Donald P. Patterson. Age 87 of Taylor, MI.
Beloved husband of Shirley. Loving father of Todd (Michelle) and Tara. Dearest grandfather of Jessica, Sara, Aaron and Loraine. Dear great grandpa of Abigail, Lila, Liam, Lex and Petunia. Brother of Kate (John) Wilson, Sue (the late Jack) Lansky, Geraldine (Ralph) Sarotte, the late Ken (Rosemary) and the late Bill (the late Carol).
Don proudly served his country in the United States Navy before beginning a long and dedicated career with Ford Motor Company, where he later retired.
A true tinkerer at heart, Don loved working with his hands — whether it was fixing up cars, radios, or just about anything that needed a little attention. He was a huge Notre Dame fan, always ready to cheer on the Fighting Irish with enthusiasm and pride.
When he wasn’t busy in the garage or workshop, Don could often be found by the pool or at the grill — two of his favorite spots to relax. After a hard day’s work, he loved nothing more than ending the day with a dip in the pool and a well-earned moment of peace.
He will be remembered for his hardworking spirit, love of family, and easygoing nature that made everyone feel at home.
Memorial contributions are greatly appreciated to Alzheimer's Association.

Our History
John Molnar, Sr. opened the Detroit Hungarian Funeral Home, now the Molnar Funeral Homes, in 1923. The funeral home began in his home until relocating across the street to it's Delray location at 8623 Dearborn Avenue, in 1936. He had a strong work ethic and believed that you should never stop learning...
