Obituary of Pauline Callahan

Pauline Callahan. Age 84 of Taylor.

Beloved wife of the late Elden “Charles” Callahan. Loving mother of Linda (the late Ed) Bain, Christina (the late John) Bain, Kathleen Wilkinson, Matthew Callahan, Carey (Mario) Palmer, Robert (Jennifer) Callahan and the late Charles Callahan. Dearest grandmother of Steven, Keeley, Jason, Jillian, Lauren, Timothy, Chad, Tiffany, Caitlin, Derek, Billy and Chelsea. Great grandmother of Landon, Jeffrey, Cody, Clark, Isabella, Emma, Alex, Mariah, Dominic, Jocelyn, Jaxon, Mila, Keegan, Marshall, Matt, Aviana and Elijah. Great-great grandmother of Ryder due in September. Dear sister of Dennis Gutierrez. Also survived by her best friend/sister Gloria Callahan. Preceded in death by her parents Paul and Mary Gutierrez, grandsons Jordon and Joel, brothers Donald and Jimmy.

Family Tribute

Pauline was the oldest of four born to Paul and Mary Gutierrez in Sterling, Illinois. Shortly after, they moved to Ecorse, Michigan where Pauline was raised and graduated from Ecorse Highschool in 1959. 

Pauline married the love of her life Elden in 1960 and together had 7 children, 14 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great-great grandchild on the way.

She was a dedicated worker. Pauline and Elden owned a photography business called Colored Portraits, she was a bookkeeper for Sims Men’s Clothing Store in Lincoln Park, Michigan, secretary for Ecorse High School and the receptionist for St. Andre Bessette Catholic Church (Formerly known as St. Francis Xavier Catholic Church). 

Pauline served on the Ecorse School Board and was involved with the Mexican American Society. 

Her hobbies included collecting purses and watches, fixing those watches, cooking, sudoku puzzles, frequenting garage sales and was an avid traveler. A recent trip, flying to California to visit her best friend from high school. 

Pauline will be remembered for the dedication she had for her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren.
