There are very few like Aunt Eva. From my earliest memory to my last she has always been such a truly joyful, loving, and giving woman. Always so honestly concerned with whatever was concerning you. If you were hurt she was just as hurt as you and if you were happy then you were going to become even happier from her reactions as you explain your happiness. She truly felt everything and was SO SO SO genuine in her reactions.
There was never a visit where I arrived and she wasn’t right there to greet me with that beautiful smile, a kiss, and a hug. This wasn’t no ordinary hug, this was a hug from Aunt Eva. You could feel the love from her before she ever reached you to give that hug. The true look of joy on her face, along with how fast she came over to give it and the way she just kind of squeezed as if she hadn’t seen you in years. When in all actuality, you had just seen her a few days ago. It didn’t matter! They were always the same!
Just as her greeting was always the same, so was your departure from Aunt Eva & Uncle Pats. One more great smile, a kiss, and a hug goodbye. Now once you were out that door you knew it wasn’t completely good bye yet. You knew whether you got right in the car and pulled off or you took 15 minutes getting things situated before you drove off, she would be right there in that window possibly blowing you a kiss but always waving goodbye with that beautiful smile one last time. I will never forget all of my wonderful times with her beautiful soul.
My brother and I spent a lot of wonderful time over there as children and as young men until we left the state. Words can’t explain how deeply you will be missed but I know where you are and that brings some light to this unfortunate day.. love you Aunt Eva.
